Getting in

Shore access, walk in off the sand

Best conditions

Winter, roughly October through April, is Pipeline's surf season, when the state and county beach safety program describes the waves as their highest and most powerful, sometimes past 25 feet. Summer calms down, and the same program calls the swimming then nice.

Parking

Small lot at the beach park on Ke Nui Road, about 1.2 acres in all. Traffic runs especially heavy on big winter days, when people drive from across the island to watch the surf.
