The spot
The things that stay true when the weather changes.
The wave takes east through southeast swell, likes a north-northwest wind, and works on any tide. Its most consistent stretch runs September into March, peaking around December. Surfline compares the soft, shapely peaks to San Onofre, and most of the lineup rides longboards.
The beach lot takes a Town of East Hampton resident permit only, issued free to residents; the town sells day passes at Atlantic Avenue and Kirk Park instead, not here. Surfline notes the lot gets crowded.
